New 911 GT3 and GT3 Cup at the Geneva Motor Show

Cameras whizzed, zoomed and flashed as Porsche lifted the covers off the two new models it unveiled at the 83rd Geneva Motor Show: the all-new, 991-based 911 GT3 and its Cup racing edition.

As the Stuttgart-based company’s manager of high performance cars (…) Andreas Preuninger put it, even though they are fully aware of what they have created, “the reaction of the crowd is always the final test”.

Well, it certainly won the crowd’s approval, as it is just as delicious as its Cup version. Those ground-hugging looks, 469HP and a claimed Nordscleife lap of less than 7:30 it certainly wet everyone’s appetite; and we’re betting media offices around the world are currently busy scheduling their comparison tests…

You can watch the video of the new 911 GT3 and GT3 Cup being unveiled, along with comments from Preuninger, design chief Michael Mauer and racing legend Jacky Ickx right after the jump.
