Don't Like the 2014 Corvette Stingray's Square Tail Lamps? There May Be a Solution...

Even though the dust has yet to settle from the presentation of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray and we won't be seeing the car in showrooms until the end of summer the earliest, some fans of the series have been complaining about the switch from circle to the more Camaro-esque square taillights.

While it's true that the C2, C3, C5 and C6 did indeed have round or oval rear lights, it wasn't always like that as the C4 came with four square-shaped tail lamps and the first Corvette had single lights from 1951 to 1960, with the four-light treatment appearing on the 1961 and 1962 models of the C1 lineup.

The Real Italian Job with Three Tuned Lamborghini Aventadors

It might be selling like hotcakes for a V12-powered Lamborghini, but how often do you seen one, let alone three examples of the Aventador LP700-4 on the road?

Unless you live or hang around very glamorous places, the answer is probably never, which is why we just had to share this video that comes courtesy of supercar spotter "Shmee150", who dropped the link along with the following message into our email box earlier this morning:

New Corvette Stingray Imagined Hunkered Down, Riding on Vossen Wheels

Raise your hands if you think you know which car will be one of the stars of the next SEMA show in Las Vegas this fall. You can put them down now as we all know that unless GM chooses otherwise, the 2014 Corvette Stingray will be the poster child of world's largest aftermarket event.

In fact, we're already starting to see speculative takes on tuned Stingrays such as the these two renderings made by Glacius Creations, which is run by Norwegian design Christer Stormark.

Meet the Toyota 86 / Scion FR-S GRMN SPORTS FR Concept PLATINUM [w/Video]

To be frank, Toyota got it right the first time with the original concepts for the 86 and the FR-S, but for one reason or another, it toned down the design of both models when time came to introduce the production variants.

While no doubt a success, many people have also complained about the lack of power from the Subaru-sourced 2.0-liter naturally aspirated flat four that generates 200-horses.
Toyota's racing and tuning partner Gazoo Racing is looking to rectify both issues with a new concept unveiled today at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2013 named the 'GRMN SPORTS FR Concept PLATINUM'.

Factory 5 Shelby is Better than a Push-up Bra…

As you have most likely seen in the past, young ladies (preferably dressed in revealing outfits) tagging along in ridiculously powerful sports cars and the overly-enthusiastic crew from "High Tech Corvette" go hand in hand.

In their most recent filming venture, they placed an unnamed woman / model (prior experience tells us that at least one of you will be able to name her…) in the passenger seat of a wild and loud Factory Five Shelby coupe upgraded with "a 04 Cobra motor custom built by Gemini Motorsports in Houston".

If there was one thing you could change on the Ferrari 458 Spider, what would it be? Well, the answer to that question really depends on whom you ask, but for German tuner Capristo, which specializes on exhaust systems, it would be the open-top supercar's engine cover.

You would think that a car that costs as much as a small house like the Continental GT series wouldn't need any interior renovations, especially since Bentley itself already offers its customers many personalization options, but there are always exceptions to the rule.

Cam Shaft Turns the Renault Clio 200 RS Cup into a Track Racer

German car wrapping specialist Cam Shaft has made its own Clio RS R3 track racer (of sorts) out of the sportiest version of the French hatch.

The company started out by stripping the Clio RS' interior down to bare studs and then adding an assortment of race-specification goods ranging from a full roll-cage and a pair of Sparco bucket seats to the LCD instrument panel and removable Sparco steering wheel.

The mechanical improvements are far more restrained and include a lowered KW suspension, Brembo brake kit, K&N sports air filter and an Akrapovic Evolution exhaust system, while the car now rides on new lightweight OZ rims.

The final touch comes from Cam Shaft's own wrapping service for both the exterior and interior panels along with a new rear wing.

Corvette Z06 Chases a Nissan GT-R Around the Track Until it Surrenders

Corvette-Z06-Chases-Nissan-GT-R

What Nissan has managed to do with the R35 GT-R is nothing short of amazing, as the Japanese carmaker's flagship model has become the de facto standard in the sports car world upon which all other vehicles are judged.

Of course, we should never forget that another important factor that weighs in at any type of race is the driver and how capable he or she is behind the wheel.

The video that follows, isn't a race per se, as the drivers of the Corvette Z06 and Nissan GT-R running at the MotorSport Ranch Performance Car Country Club in Texas were probably there to do some hot laps around the track, but still, the chase that ensued makes for a pretty interesting watch.

The Mouse that Roars: Custom Lotus Exige with 680rwhp is Insane

Custom Lotus Exige with 680rwhp is Insane

Lotus has always designed sports cars that are fast, light and handle superbly. The fact that most its models fall into the flyweight category eseentially eliminates the need for extremely powerful engines.

But not for one Lotus owner who wasn't content with his stock Lotus Exige. Enter the world of Frank Profera from California.

After six years of constant development and numerous upgrades, Profera and his team have tweaked the British sports car's 1.8-liter twin-turbocharged engine to the point that it currently pushes 680-horsepower at the wheels (which means 700hp or more at the crankshaft).

At the same time, the coupe's weight stands at a very low 2,150 pounds (975 kilos). We don't know if it’s the fastest Lotus –that title probably goes to Hennessey's 1,200hp Lotus-based Venom GT – but it's surely one of the runner ups.

You can watch the Exige in action in the video from Drive after the jump.
