New Corvette C7 Poses on Magazine Front Covers

For their own reasons, automakers have their preferences in the media and like to give select magazines and websites (keep an eye on a certain auto blog's 12:01am, 12:02am Ford postings, for example) press photos and releases well before they distribute them to the rest of the media world.

General Motors is one of many automakers that adheres to these unwritten rules, which is why you're seeing a snapshot of the yet-to-be revealed 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 posing on the cover of Automobile Magazine's next issue.

SCOOP: 2014 Corvette C7 Captured on Camera on the Road

We know the seventh generation of GM's flagship sports car, the Corvette, is just around the corner and that it will arrive sometime in the first half of 2013, but one YouTube user had the unique opportunity to see the car up close and on the road.

The good news is that he was able to film a short clip, the bad news being that he did it with a mobile phone without turning it sideways… Nonetheless, the video is worth 30 seconds of your time.

The prototype was under heavy camouflage but we are still able to see some details such as the four tailpipes, which unlike the current model, are bundled very closely together. The video also proves that the C7 will remain a front-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car

GM is keeping a tight lid on most things concerning the next Corvette, but we expect to see a new generation of V8 engines in both naturally aspirated and force-fed forms.
