Land Rover considering new crossove

Land Rover insiders have confirmed that the company is considering a new ‘white space’ concept - a model that would push it into new sales territory should the car make production.

The model is understood to be a new crossover below the Range Rover Evoque that design director Gerry McGovern is keen to pursue.

Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept Caught On The Streets Of London

The Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept is set to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6th, but an English car spotter spied the concept yesterday morning in London near the Tower Bridge.

One thing is certain from these pictures, the topless Rover doesn't look any less strange in the real world than it does in the pictures we've seen ahead of the official unveil.
Commenting on the concept model, Land Rover Design Director, Gerry McGovern said: "The Evoque lends itself beautifully to the idea of a convertible. This study is not a traditional convertible design execution - instead we have worked with the balance of the Evoque's lines to retain its distinctive shape and create something that is unique and, we believe, highly desirable."

The study is based on the three-door Evoque and can seat four passengers. It features an electrically operated cloth top with the roof mechanism stowed neatly below the belt-line and also comes equipped with a Roll Over Protection System [ROPS].
