Garbage Collector Trashes Impatient Driver

At some point, we've all been stuck behind a car leaving passengers on the road, a van unloading its goods or more frequently on city streets, a garbage truck.

There's really nothing you can or should do about it other than wait, perhaps raise your voice a notch, or if you're running out of time and patience, call the police if there's problem. Getting out of your vehicle to confront a group of garbage workers, doesn't sound like a good idea and it certainly isn't one in practice…

Peugeot Workers Protest Layoffs, Company Says Strikes Happen Every Month

Last summer, PSA Peugeot Citroen announced that it would close its Aulnay plant near Paris and slash 8,000 jobs in a cost-cutting effort to minimize its losses, which were €819 million (US$990 million) in the first month of 2012 alone.

Today, 300 of its workers belonging to the CGT, one of France’s more radical unions, went on strike at said plant. They may account for just 10 percent of the factory's 3,000-strong workforce, but they were able to “paralyze” the facility as most of them worked on production.

2012 Peugeot 208 Concept XY - Video and Photos

After the 208 GTi Concept video, up to that of the 208 XY Concept (below)! The two "prototypes" will travel at the next Geneva Motor Show.

The "XY" heralds a new luxury finish in the 208 range. Mainly to the fairer sex, it features an exterior color "Pulsion", which comes from 16 layers of paint and varnish. See our news: The Concept and its 208 XY special livery at the Geneva show.

Leather, stitching, Alcantara or special treatment of the seats with surprising clips showcase the French. There are even leather at the grille!

Under the hood, the French manufacturer has grafted a diesel 1.6 HDi e-strong 115 horsepower. Less "virulent" than the 1.6 THP 200 block, in place on the GTi Concept! We also eagerly awaits the performance of the latter! The match Renault Clio RS / Peugeot 208 GTi will take place!

Le Professionnel Car Chase (1981)

Georges Lautner’s 1981 action-thriller Le Professionnel is about a French Secret Service agent betrayed by his employers and left to rot in an African prison camp. After breaking out and returning to his native France, the agent which played by Jean-Paul Belmondo begins plotting his revenge against the people who set him up. In this scene, Belmondo is trying to outfox the French Secret Service agents following him.

Belmodono is driving a red Fiat 131 Supermirafiori while his rivals's car is the black Peugeot 504. There are a couple of 180 degree turns, a handful of nice pit manoeuvres and the prerequisite shot of the Eiffel Tower for the non-Gallic viewers. The chase eventually moves to the grounds of the Palais de Chaillot, where we discover just how overused that, “driving a car down some stairs,” thing was before Jason Bourne got around to it.
