Kate Upton and the Wolf: Watch the Two New Mercedes-Benz CLA Ads

One of Mercedes-Benz's most important new models of the year is without doubt the CLA. Not only because it is the brand's first front-wheel drive saloon, but also because it lowers the entry price to the three-pointed star to around $30k in the U.S.

Short of actually driving the car, we know everything about the new CLA. Based on the MFA platform, it boasts a world-leading aerodynamic coefficient of 0.23 (0.22 in the BlueEFFICIENCY C180) and will launch with a 207HP turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the U.S. and a broader engine range in other markets.

Turns Out the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Can't Fly After All…

If you're expecting to see some crazy mishap take place in the following video, we’re…glad to inform you that nobody was hurt after the driver and passenger of this Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG 'Gullwing' came up with the bright idea of pushing out its 'upward-opening' doors at 70mph (approx. 113 km/h).

Before we let you read the author's account of the "fun to watch" incident and view the clip for yourself, allow us to note that the sticker on the SLS AMG's rear bumper suggests that the car is a rental, though, it could also be a sponsor, or the person who owns the company may be driving it.

Scoop: Mercedes-Benz's Next S65 AMG Super Limo Chilling Out on the Road

A very lightly camouflaged prototype of what we believe to be the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG performance limo was detailed on film while parked on the road by YouTube user DrGumoLunatic.

But what leads us to think that this is the S65 and not the S63 AMG, or for that matter, a regular W222 S-Class model? Well, we could mention the wheels and brakes, but the most telling part are the quad exhaust pipes, as each pair is connected, a trait seen only in the S65 AMG models – in the S63, for example, there are four separately shaped outlets.

Mercedes-Benz Showcases 2014 E-Class Active Safety Systems on Film

With all the buzz generated by the new CLA compact premium sedan it’s easy to forget about the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class that makes its world debut at this week's North American International Auto Show.

That would be a mistake because the new E-Class that’s offered in saloon, estate, coupe and convertible flavors, is much more than your typical mid-life facelift, featuring notable changes both in its styling and under the skin.

Mercedes-Benz CLA Officially Launched, Priced From €28,977 in Germany, [62 Photos & Video]

Here’s what we already know about the new Mercedes-Benz CLA: it’s a four-door sports sedan based on the A-Class’ MFA front-wheel drive platform, with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system being available as an option.

It sits between the A- and C-Class in the automaker’s line-up but is slightly longer than the latter. It has a production car aerodynamic record with a Cd of just 0.23 and it will launch with a 207HP turbocharged 2.0-liter four-banger in the U.S. and a wider range of gasoline and diesel engines in Europe and other markets.

Look at Them Go: Mercedes' New E63 AMG and E63 AMG S-Model 4MATIC

Earlier this week, Mercedes-Benz completed the update of the E-Class sedan and Estate/Wagon range with the presentation of the almighty AMG variants.

The new snout and re-worked body of the E63 AMG Sedan and Wagon tell only half the story as Mercedes also boosted the standard twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 to 550HP (557PS) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm), and enhanced the lineup with all-wheel drive 4MATIC versions and an even more powerful S model rated at 577HP and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm).

New Mercedes Concept Style Coupe Appears on Video and in a New Set of Photos

Like they say, when it leaks it pours. Only hours after the first images of the Mercedes-Benz Concept Style Coupe (CSC) landed on the web, a video as well as a new wave of pictures of the junior CLS study surfaced online.

In the same way that last year's A-Class Concept previewed the production model that was shown in Geneva this March, the CSC gives us an idea of what the four-door coupe model will look like when it arrives in the market sometime in 2013 as the CLC or CLA.

Mercedes-CSC-Study
The study is based on an elongated version of the A-Class' MFA platform sharing the same running gear as the hatchback, including the 208hp (211PS) 2.0-liter boosted four-cylinder engine that drives the front wheels.

The exterior styling of the CSC is an evolution of the F800 Concept from 2010, which also inspired the design of the larger CLS. Suffice to say, the production model will sport a less aggressive shape and design details.

These new pictures give us a better look of the interior as well. If you exclude the flashy accent colors and an overdose of Alcantara and carbon fiber trim, the dashboard is almost identical to that of the A-Class five-door hatchback. The only real difference we spotted is the bespoke instrument panel with the twin housing for the gauges.

Mercedes-Benz Touts the Safety of its Vehicles in New 'Amy' Spot

Mercedes-Benz-Touts-the-Safety-of-its-Vehicles-in-New-'Amy'-Spot

There was a time when for most people, automobile safety was synonymous with Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, with both brands heavily promoting this aspect of their vehicles in their advertisements.

As the years passed by, the mainstream automotive industry as a whole made safety a number one priority for their vehicles and gradually all carmakers began showing similar commercials, until of course marketing teams pushed the focus elsewhere.

Now, Mercedes-Benz wants to remind consumers about the safety credentials of its cars with a new spot called Amy, named after a dog that made it out alive along with the…human passengers from a real car wreck involving a CLS sports saloon that occurred last September.

Both English and German language versions of the ad follow below.

A completely stock Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren with 626-ponies goes up against a lightly tuned Nissan GT-R with a Stage 2 kit and 560-horses and in a separate race, an Aston Martin DBS upgraded with a supercharger by Mansory pushing out 750-horsepower.

To see how the one mile (1.6 kilometers) drag strip race went down, hit the break to watch the short video clip.
