The Volkswagen brand is expanding the range of its Touareg SUV in Britain with the addition of a new R-Line trim that is based on the Altitude. According to VW, the R-Line adds a host of extra equipment features and unique styling cues, worth over £4,000, for a premium of £750.
On the outside, the R-Line models ride on new 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped around in tires size 275/45 R20, while also gaining new front and rear bumpers, plus side skirts. Bi-xenon headlights with dynamic curve lighting and LED daytime running lights, and LED tail lamps come as standard.
Open the doors and owners are greeted by R-Line sill plates and a standard full-length panoramic electric sliding glass sunroof.
As with the rest of the Touareg models, the R-Line comes equipped with standard leather seats, a satellite navigation and audio system with eight-inch full-colour touchscreen, 2Zone climate control, a Stop/Start system and battery regeneration.
In the UK, the Touareg R-Line is offered with an 8-speed automatic transmission linked to a 3.0-liter V6 diesel with either 201hp (204PS), for £44,025, or 242hp (245PS), for £45,645 RRP OTR.
Along with the release of the R-Line trim for the Touareg, Volkswagen also announced the lowering of prices across the CC range by at least £470 compared to last year, with the base model now starting at £24,050.
Prices for the best-selling CC GT 2.0-litre TDI 138hp (140PS) version are down by £1,320, due to the removal of ACC Adaptive Chassis Control, which now becomes a £850 option.
